The first five main resonances from the article Physical Model Synthesis and Performance Mappings of Bowl Resonators . These were derived from striking a tibetan singing bowl with a wooden mallet. To my ear there is a qualitatively different sound when the bowl is excited by circular fricative motion (running the stick around the edge). Although the sounds are clearly related, I fully intend to record and analyze my sound spectra, just for grins :)
