Hello All -
Isn’t it good to get a bit of normal in our summer? And of course, when I say “normal”, I mean sunny mornings that turn into rainy afternoons. At least that seems to be the common pattern here in west Wicklow, anyway. But of course I mean that the lockdown restrictions have been eased by quite a bit, and while relatively few of us are taking our summer holidays abroad, it’s nice to feel like we can get out and dp something for the first time in a long while.
It’s also really nice that many of the yoga studios where we practice together are holding in-person classes again. Pretty much all of them (at least all the places I teach) also have online offerings, with arguably better technology (or at least more reliable network connections) than I have available, as well. This has cost the studios thousnds of euros to get going, on top of their losses from being shut down from March through July, and I really would encourage you to take advantage of their offerings. Whether you practice at Hot Yoga Dublin & Yoga Next Door, The Yoga Hub, StrongBodies, The Elbow Room, Boss Hot Yoga, Samadhi, or Yoga Dublin, there are spaces available for you to practice with both live and recorded teaching. The time really is right to “un-pause” the practice and continue the development of mind & body.
For myself, I also need to take some time for development. Before our plans for the year were hijacked by the necessities of Covid-19, I was meant to be in training for most of the month of August. That training has been rescheduled to a date “sometime in 2021”, which is fine with me but I am still feeling the inward pull of self-study. I feel like my spirit had already decided that this was a time to be set aside and it is still calling for that promise to be honored. Over the years I have found it best to always honor these promises to myself.
So, I feel like it is time to press Pause on my own online offerings, at least through the rest of August. I’m not going away, and I will still be teaching through the studios and their online offerings. I just won’t be hosting my own online classes for a little while. I think this will be a good thing. I have a number of ideas in development that also need attention. Hopefully I will be able to offer them in the autumn of this year, if I actually give them some attention now.
Currently I am teaching regularly only at Hot Yoga Dublin & Yoga Next Door; and I am covering classes at The Yoga Hub, while Matt & his team work out how to bring the rest of their schedule back into rotation. So my regular teaching schedule is:
What | Where | When |
Thursday Night Yin | Hot Yoga Dublin & Yoga Next Door | Thursday 1930-2030 |
Sunday Night Candlelight | Hot Yoga Dublin & Yoga Next Door | Sunday 1930-2100 |
So there you have it. Do drop in to see me, I’ve been missing the chance to practice with all of you. Stay safe. May you find peace with yourself and those close to you.
Om Shanti
