Yoga Lab is a big tent, set up to cover a lot of activities based on Western Yoga Dharma. As with most things in life though, the only way to tell if they are worthwhile is to give them a try - which is why we look at it as a Laboratory. A lot of these activities also involve David Rush, who is organizing these pages.

New bloggage released via Hot Yoga Dublin & Yoga Next Door! Does alignment matter? Read here to find out

The revelation of a revelation. Or possibly a dream within a dream that's been waiting in the dark since 2016. In any case The Peoples' Light and Theatre Company is open for business

New podcast Ejected from a Dream just went up. It's been in the can for quite a while, since June 2017 I think, waiting for me to have enough time to finish the edit process. So while it's new, it's been with me for a long time. I still think it has something worth saying

My final exam essay from the Yin Yoga Level 1 training I did with Sarah Lo in October. It's a bit stiff because I understood it as an academic exercise more than a pesonalized testimonial, but I feel like it still says some useful things for anyone who might have questions about Yin practice and why it matters.

New Bloggage! But to me it's old bloggage because I started writing it in March of 2016! Nice because it explains just why my classes are all fairly different from each other (at least in my own mind). Also it says a bit about why building your own home practice is a great idea.

Tag-teamed a lovely asana for stress reduction session with Sinead Murray for Strongbodies. Also got to follow it up with a short-ish yoga nidra practice, where we worked our way into the heart-space to honor the most essential part of our being.

New podcast About the Guru Mantra is available. This one is dedicated to all the students that have been listening to it at the beginning of class — and wondering what it was all about.

David Rush, Richard Andreucetti, and Sinead Murray are putting on a de-stress yourself workshop at Strongbodies in Firhouse. Lots of deets available in the linkies above. Come on along - we plan to make it fun!

Another Yoga Lab Podcast is up. This one was recorded back in December in a moment of random inspiration; and as I re-listened to it, I felt it needed to be published. It's a bit of a meditation I am calling A Dark Place to Start, well because it is a bit. But it ends quite a bit lighter. See what you think.

Wow! The Fire on the Mountain Jam Session turned out really well, too. Things got very warm and friendly as we opened up the fire in our hearts to shine into all the worlds we create. Looking forward to doing more of these in 2017!

The Yoga Lab Podcast is open. It is a project that Tahnee Fournier and I cooked up after quite a bit of chatting over the internet. She's a great teacher with a lot of well-grounded insight into this crazy practice I like to call Western Yoga Dharma. I've posted a short reading of a translation of the "Hymn to Ratri" from the Rig Veda just to test the RSS feed and other machinery on Soundclound, in case you want to listen to it.

The The Wishing Tree Jam Session was a big success! There was a huge vibe in the room as everyone brought their energy into a really special time and place. Special thanks to everyone who helped make this happen: Kevin, Barb, and especially Eithne, who helped to lead the asana practice. We're going to try for another one come December.

Really looking forward to the first Jam Session coming up on 23 October.

Good Times at the Dundalk Yoga Collective where Eithné ni AnLuain ran her first Community Class. It was fun sharing the tricks we've gathered up over the years, including physics tricks for arm balances, ways to work on drop-backs, and all kinds of fun wall work. I'm looking forward to the next one. It was worth the drive up from my cave in the Wicklow Mountains.

Went to the European Yogi Nomads weekend in Biarritz. The craic was mighty! "Wave of Life" was the theme, and I could feel it wash over me during this beautiful gathering of the tribe.

Did 108 Sun Salutations in benefit of Spinal Injury Ireland. This is the kind of thing that happens to you when you swear that you will never do a thing. The whole notion of engaging with measurable performance is just not the way I think about yoga; however, this turned out to be a good learning experience. Repeating the motions to this degree pointed out habits I didn't even know I had. All of which goes to show that it just takes intention and a container to make a practice.

Spent the weekend with my teacher, Meghan Currie (along with 60 other people!) at the Yoga Loft in Köln. Meghan said it best: church. It was a magical, sacred time.
